It is a pasta/cereal product: couscous (small grains), usually packed in 500g bags.
Ingredients: fine wheat flour from common wheat, durum wheat, and corn. May contain traces of eggs.
Nutritional information per 100g: ~365 kcal (1548 kJ), ~1.1g fat (of which saturated ~0.4g), ~76g carbohydrates (of which sugars ~4.0g), ~12g protein, ~0.8g fiber, salt ~0g.
Quick preparation: for 500g (approx. 6 servings), lightly fry the grains in a little oil until golden brown, then add hot water and simmer covered for 6–8 minutes.
Uses: it can be served as a side dish — plain, with vegetables, sauces, meat, etc., or it can be integrated into salads, stews, hot or cold dishes.
